Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS)
Provide recovery-focused peer support to help individuals build independence, wellness, and community connections. NC Medicaid requires PSS to be delivered by certified Peer Support Specialists.
1915(i) Paraprofessional – Individual & Transitional Support
Support individuals with independent living skills, community integration, housing-related goals, social skills, and other goals identified in their care plan. NC Medicaid’s ITS policy specifically identifies Paraprofessional as the staff level providing these supports.
Qualified Professional (QP)
Provide supervision and oversight of service delivery, staff, care-plan implementation, and documentation. Your Peer Support program requires QP direction, and ITS also includes supervision requirements for paraprofessional staff.
